Isabelle Maquaire, resident of Moitiers-en-Bauptois (Manche), created a micro-enterprise called “L’Atelier du Coton”. Passionate about sewingIsabelle created her business and already several local customers.

Son atelier is a piece, located in his house where she makes all kinds of creations. She does sewing, embroidery, flocking and personalization of clothes, bags, etc.

“I have always loved sewing, but this is the first time I have sold my creations,” explains the former postwomanwhich was with time after his retirement. She was a postwoman for around twenty years in Paris, La Hague, and recently in Sainte-Mère-Église.

I decided to do training, I am taking distance learning courses to learn more techniques. I was already doing flocking and embroidery which I learned on my own, but the training taught me much more advanced techniques.

Isabelle is very versatile and she creates many things such as bags, toiletry bags, bath capes, hair towels, makeup remover pads, aprons, computer bags, etc.

“You have to be passionate and creative”

Customers can choose from a variety of patterns and colorset personalize with their first names or those of their loved ones. Isabelle also creates their own models using sticky thermoses.

“I take models that I find on the internet and I import them and send them to my machine. I have the time and I love the process, you have to be passionate and creative. I also like make people happyit keeps me busy. »
