Look no further! The good places to enjoy in the Essonne department were revealed during a ceremony organized at the Théâtre de Mennecy, this Monday, November 18, 2024. In fact, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Essonne (CCI), in partnership with the Chamber of Trades and Crafts, awarded its prestigious label “Papilles d’Or” 2025 to 63 restaurants and food trucks in the department. On November 4, 60 food businesses also received this label.

“It’s the equivalent of Michelin Guide stars”

“For 25 years, the Papilles d’Or have been promoting the excellence and creativity of our territory. It’s the equivalent of Michelin Guide stars. We are very proud to show the know-how of all of our craftsmen. Labeled restaurants see their turnover increased by 15 to 30%which shows that our label is valuable,” rejoices Patrick Rakotoson, president of the CCI.

All of the awarded restaurants and food trucks received the visit of a jury composed of a catering professional and two consumers. They judged the participants according to different criteria such as reception and services, hygiene and compliance with regulations, product quality and tasting.

Following this, the jury certified the participating restaurants by granting them 1 to 4 taste buds. Note that the participants were classified into different categories: gourmet catering, traditional catering, brasserie family cuisine, world cuisine and food truck.

And that's not all. For the first time, this year, Essonniens were also able to give their opinion thanks to the Audience Award. With more than 3,000 voters, it was the Rugantino restaurant, in Montlhéry, which won this sesame.

Stéphane Baudoin, the manager of La Table d'Ormoy, located in Ormoy, also received the Apprenticeship Prize.

Registrations for the “Papilles d’Or 2026” will open in January 2025.
