Violent wind: peaks of 200km/h expected in Corsica, here is what to expect in the Var and the Alpes-Maritimes

And “strong gust of wind“ will begin this Tuesday evening in Corsica, Météo-France alert, which places the two departments of the island in vigilance orange this Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Haute-Corse will be on yellow alert from 9 p.m. this Tuesday, and midnight for Corsica-du-Sud.

“The gusts promise to be particularly stormy towards the Cap Corse with peaks of 160 to 200km/hand up to 150km/h in Balagne at the end of next night and [mercredi] matin”warns Météo-France.

85km/h in Saint-Etienne-de-Tinée, 80km/h in Saint-Tropez

No vigilance is announced in the south-east of France but the wind will blow from this Tuesday evening and all day Wednesday.

In the Alpes-Maritimesit will be 30km/h on average with gusts to 85km/h in Saint-Etienne-de-Tinée, 70km/h in Théoule-sur-Mer and 60km/h in Nice on Wednesday morning.

In the Ourthe wind will also blow at 30km/h on average with peaks at 80km/h in Saint-Tropez as well as gusts of between 60 and 70 km/h in the rest of the department.

This episode will calm down this Thursday.
