Ariane Phytilis, organizer of the Book Fair, regularly returns to a family home between Plaisance and Marciac. She became friends during a book fair with Emmanuel Guibert, the comic book artist, Grand Prix d'Angoulême 2022, and, consequently, with Daniel Birouste, the organ builder from Plaisance. -even building forty years of friendship with Emmanuel Guibert! As well as with Mickaël Fourcade, supported by the same Emmanuel Guibert with legendary enthusiasm, during the long journey which allowed him to achieve the invention of “Sensory Organ”a world first installed in the church of Plaisance (this device first called STIDOToday “Sensory Organ” allows people with physical or mental disabilities to play a large organ using gesture sensors, without the use of keyboards).

“Friendship loops” are a “humanity game” from the famous designer! So here is one, or rather two or three, because the organ builders recently discovered little joking children passionate about Arielthe collection of children's books by Emmanuel Guibert…

Testimony on an emotional day

Ariane Phytilis was present under the Dome of the Academy for the reception of the designer in the chair of the Academy of Fine Arts in .

Wednesday November 6, the world has changed! Overseas, desolation, chaos. But in , art and craftsmanship triumphed as the designer Emmanuel Guibert took his seat in the sumptuous rotunda of the Academy of Fine Arts in the “engraving and drawing” section.

When he entered, under the drumbeats of the Republican Guard, we could read on his face an emotion undoubtedly comparable to that which he experienced as a child, the day his father gave him the book containing all his childhood drawings. , a book that he had carefully bound. On the leather cover his name was engraved in gold letters. : Emmanuel Guibert.

Emmanuel resplendent in his outfit, embroidered with an olive branch in dark green silk and which he did not fail to point out that it had been adjusted to his forms thanks to the talent of Mevan Kalouarachchi, always keen to promote the work of those who, in the shadows, keep the craftsmanship going.

The ceremony began with the intervention of academician Pierre Collin to whom Emmanuel Guibert had entrusted the task of drawing his portrait. An hour, during which, from his childhood drawings to the story of his founding friendships, his world was described (with the help of a few projected photos), highlighting the designer's mountain of talents and his incredible humanity. A treat for the lucky ones who attended, including me!

Then came the time for the “hero” of the day to speak to pay tribute to the artist Jean-Yves Tremois, whom he succeeds to seat number 2 of the Academy. It is an exceptional tour de force, all in pentameters interrupted by talented and astonishing clowning, with imitation, red noses or mustaches of the Master Dali and songs included, that the artist invited us. The admiration and emotion of everyone was palpable.

The reception continued with the presentation of the sword whose creation Emmanuel Guibert had entrusted to the craftsman Victor Calame, son of his friend François Calame, founder of the network “carpenters without borders”. With bravery, the young man went up to The Tribune to present his work : a sword made from the assembly of two pieces of oak, one from the 15th century, the other recovered from the unused part of one of the beams of the new framework of Notre-Dame de Paris and whose pommel was decorated from a lapis lazuli brought from Afghanistan. Afghanistan in allusion to the album The Photographer which earned our friend Emmanuel Guibert numerous distinctions. It was with the eyes of an amazed little boy that the artist took hold of his “toy”. The ceremony ends with warm applause. “ It's rare, such a long ovation » remarked President Adrien Goetz.

Indeed, it was rare and oh so precious to watch and hear Emmanuel to understand that, despite all the current despair, the human and the heart remain the strongest!

For Emmanuel's Gers friends and for Emile, Zélie and all those passionate aboutAriel in Plaisance du Gers, City of Arts and Humanity !,
