Orne farmers demonstrate to put pressure on the government

At 8:15 p.m., there were around ten farmers responding to the call from the union of young farmers and the FDSEAin the Vimoutiers sector (Orne), to demonstrate against the free trade agreement with the Mercosur.

It is finally at the intersection of the D979towards Gacé, and the D246 leading to Guerquesalles, that farmers in the Vimoutiers sectors, Gaped et Le Merlerault found themselves, Monday November 18braving the rain.

“As a warning”

It is “about showing that we are out, as a warning to the public authorities” underlines Joel Nobuspresident of the interco Vimoutiers, Gaped Le Merlerault on behalf of the FDSEA.

In the evening, teams were formed. The goal is “to go to as many communities as possible to cover the signs in towns and villages just outside the town, so as not to hinder emergency services” comments Joel Nobus.

He specifies that “this is a beginning if there is no reaction from the public authorities”.
