Santiago, a very premature baby aged 17 days at the time of the events, was kidnapped from the Aulnay-sous-Bois hospital in Seine-Saint-Denis on the night of October 21 to 22.
He was found three days later in a hotel in Amsterdam (Netherlands) with his parents. The child's mother subsequently accepted his extradition to France while the father opted for a longer procedure.
Santiago's father will appear in Holland in December
Following her handover to the French authorities, Santiago's mother was indicted on charges of kidnapping, sequestration of a 15-year-old minor in an organized gang, and deprivation of care or food compromising the child's health. a minor under 15 years old by ascendant or person with authority.
As for Santiago, the prosecution indicated, in a press release dated November 8, that the infant returned to France on November 1. He was hospitalized and “is now subject to placement with Child Welfare,” noted the public prosecutor.
For his part, and according to information that CNEWS revealed on November 8, Santiago's father will appear before a Dutch judge on December 19. During this public hearing, the 23-year-old man could decide his fate.
