images of Hesdigneul-lès-Boulogne, flooded due to the overflow of the Liane

If the houses of this Boulonnais village seem spared, roads are completely submerged by the waters of the Liane, placed on yellow alert by the Vigicrue alert service.

The water is rising in Pas-de-. The Liane overflowed near the village of Hesdigneul-Lès-Boulogne (Pas-de-Calais), making several roads in the area impassable, as shown in drone images provided to BFM Grand Littoral, this Tuesday, November 19.

The road leading to the entrance to the village was notably filmed completely submerged by brownish waters. The Liane has also been placed on yellow alert, like all the rivers in the area.

Three accesses blocked by water

In total, three of the four access points to Hesdigneul-Lès-Boulogne were blocked by water this Tuesday evening. Only the one via Saint-Étienne-au-Mont is still possible, declares the town hall to BFM Grand Littoral.

“The pumping system is “100%” operational,” explains the waterworks institution.

The bad weather also strongly affected the rest of -Pas-de-Calais. On the Béthune side, the rain, for example, made the golf course impassable, forcing the structure to close.

Same observation among our Belgian neighbors. The Pairi Daiza animal park even advised against going there this Tuesday due to the rising waters. “Animals and visitors are sheltered,” their services wrote on Facebook.
