The famous bottle comes from the Romanée Conti estate, whose prestigious reputation is well established. The elixir that was sold this week is a Grand Cru, dating from 1996, according to information from La Nouvelle République.
This record auction took place this Monday afternoon, in the premises of the Giraudeau auction house, in Joué-lès-Tours, in Indre-et-Loire. In total, 6,000 bottles have been offered for auction since last Friday.
A wine estimated between 11,000 and 14,000 euros
For this sale, only one person bid. It was therefore she who finally won the auction and purchased this prestigious bottle. Before its acquisition, its value was estimated between 11,000 and 14,000 euros. It was finally purchased for the tidy sum of 11,000 euros. Added to this price are sales costs of 24%. In total, the buyer had to pay 13,640 euros to be able to afford this luxurious Burgundy wine.
Other bottles offered by the auction house also found their buyers. Thus, wines from the Romanée Conti estate were sold for several thousand euros. Last Friday, a Magnum from Lafitte-Rotschild, dated 1982, was sold for 3,800 euros.
