It is not impossible, we hope in any case without really believing in it due to the sustained estimates, since two dessert plates from the Emperor's private service, known as “headquarters service” are on sale.
Sèvres being busy with a major acquisition which we hope will be a success (and which we will undoubtedly talk about soon), it is however unlikely that it will be able to acquire the first, which would be a welcome mise en abyme since 'it represents the Sèvres factory (ill. 1). The second, which depicts the interview between Napoleon and Tsar Alexander, would be wonderful for the Napoleon I Museum in Fontainebleau.

Many important works will be auctioned in this “Exceptional Sale”. We can also point out a Savonnerie carpet coming from the royal Savonnerie factory, from the Chaillot workshops from the mid-17th century (ill. 2), incredibly fresh, a work that we would dream of this time for the Musée du Grand Siècle in Saint-Cloud which seeks to show all the artistic productions of the time.
Finally, let us point out in the same sale another museum work, which this time would be a remarkable enrichment for the Louvre: it is a marble bust representing Oliver Cromwell, by the British sculptor active in Rome in the 18th century, Francis Harwood (ill. 3).…
