Oldelaf will be in concert at Des Lendemains Qui Chantent in Tulle, this Friday, November 22, 2024, to present his new album “Saint-Valentin”. A true hymn to love…
True to himself and disconcertingly simple, Oldelaf invites us to share his experience of love with his 5th solo album: “Saint-Valentin”.
Bar pianist from 14 years old
Oldelaf, aka Olivier Delafosse, started music at a very young age. A bar pianist from the age of 14, he took up guitar at the same time and went on stage with friends and his own songs in April 1992.
At that time, Olivier oscillates between humorous and serious songsand continued his studies in musicology. But the first big change was in January 2000. He created with a friend a group of “stupid songs”, OLDELAF and Monsieur D.
But Olivier has become OLDELAF, his style has been refined and he dreams of keeping the humor but needs to return to “real” songs. This was achieved with the album “Le monde est beau” in 2011 and a particular piece, “La Tristitude”.
Building on his opus “L’Aventure” (2020), a concept album about travel written and recorded during a road trip, the idea of making an album around love songs germinated.
Valentine's Day is Oldelaf's 5th solo album
Oldelaf's concept album around love, “Valentine's Day”, was released on October 25. Thirteen new titles dealing with all the different phases of love: the first emotions, life as a couple, disappointments, breakups…
Valentine's Day addresses a vast theme that speaks to everyone: love.
Musically, Oldelaf has always been a great admirer of the Beatles and the French variety.
Oledelaf started his tour on September 20 and will be in Tulle at the end of the week. His visit to La Maroquinerie in Paris is already full.
