The presentation of the five departmental topoguides of the Route des bastides (“Where to go? Where to eat? True to form, President Jean Baucou (Navarrenx) held his meeting in the heart of the territory of the member bastides of Dordogne, Gironde, Landes (represented by Duhort-Bachen, Geaune, Grenade-sur-l'Adour, Labastide-d'Armagnac , Miramont-Sensacq, Montfort-en-Chalosse, Pimbo, Saint-Justin and Sorde-l'Abbaye), Lot-et-Garonne and Béarn Pyrénées.

Launched before Covid, the publication of these brochures for tourism and heritage purposes is now finally a reality. They are part of the concern for the development of quality tourism through better knowledge of the bastide phenomenon, adding to the enhancement of heritage, the strengthening of cultural and educational actions while ensuring the comfort of the living environment. and the economic development (safeguarding and reestablishment of small businesses, in particular) of these particular towns created in the 13the and 14e centuries.
The objective of the federation is to obtain from the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region the implementation of a “Bastides Plan” like the one launched in the 1980s. To do this, a questionnaire was sent to elected officials and traders from the different bastides in order to identify their needs and expectations. The analysis of this investigation will be the subject of a future federal meeting.
