Part of the A61 motorway closed two consecutive nights for work in Aude

For two consecutive nights, Monday November 18 and Tuesday November 19, 2024, the A61 motorway will be completely inaccessible to all vehicles, between West Carcassonne (hears) et Carcassonne is. And for good reason, the works initiated since Monday, September 16, will continue.

Deviations will be put in place.

Renovated roadways

Concessionaire of the entire highway, Vinci confirms that this project aims to renovate the roadwaysin the two directions of traffic.

The closure of the A61 between Carcassonne-west and Carcassonne-est will be implemented between 8 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. in the nights of Monday 18 to Tuesday 19 November as well as for the night of Tuesday 19 to Wednesday 20 November 2024.

For vehicles arriving from Narbonne, the exit must be at the level of the Narbonne interchange. Carcassonne-west (exit no. 23) for vehicles heading towards Narbonne (hears).

Deviations

This work, planned to last several more monthstake place systematically at night. And for good reason, road traffic is generally less there than during the day.

During these two nights, very precise diversion routes are put in place.

• Drivers coming from Toulouse will have to exit at the Carcassonne-Ouest interchange (n°23). They will be invited to follow the S17 route to join the A61 at the Carcassonne-est interchange (n°24),
• Drivers wishing to take the A61 at the interchange of Carcassonne-west (n°23) to go towards Narbonne will be invited to follow the S17 route to join the A61 at the Carcassonne-est interchange (n°24),
• Drivers wishing to take the A61 at the interchange of Carcassonne-west (n°23) to go towards Toulouse will be invited to follow the S16 route to join the A61 at the Bram interchange (n°22).
