Lieutenant Olivier Pautrot, figure of the Deux-Sèvres firefighters, has died

“He left us after leading a fierce battle against illness with courage and dignity. » In a message addressed to all members, the board of directors of the Departmental Union of Deux-Sèvres Firefighters (UDSP 79) announced the death of Lieutenant Olivier Pautrot, its president.

After many years spent in the La Mothe-Saint-Héray rescue center, which he joined in 1994, Olivier Pautrot became head of the Ménigoute barracks in 2015. Very invested in the associative network, particularly for the Work of the wards and orphans of firefighters, it marked Sdis 79 with “his humanity and his constant concern to defend and promote our great family of Deux-Sèvres firefighters”, underlines UDSP 79.

Change of command in October

Just a month ago, the handover of command within the Ménigoute center took place with great emotion when Olivier Pautrot handed over command of the fire station to Sergeant Aurélien Bérardengo. “Your commitment goes well beyond the commitment of a center head: selfless generosity, attached to noble causes, dignity, intrinsic value of a person, endowed with altruism, the list of your qualities is on several pages”, Colonel Thibaut Niderlender, boss of Sdis 79, had assured him.
