The Territorial community of Guyana reacts to recent actions reported in this high school in Cayenne.
For a week, the Melkior-Garré high school has been the subject of false comments and videos broadcast on social networks on the sidelines of “a strike movement by 3 local authority agents out of 59 assigned to the operation of the educational restaurant”.
The rectorate of Guyana and the local authority indicate that the Melkior-Garré high school of more than 2,000 students, labeled high school for hotel and catering trades, meets its primary obligations, namely to provide quality education to students who frequent him.
The establishment has been the subject of significant investments for several years. This restructuring continues with the rehabilitation of the Melkior building and the start of construction of the hotel building in January 2025.
“The school catering service serves tens of thousands of meals per year without incidents relating to hygiene and food safety” further specify the CTG services.
