The first gatherings initiated by the JA and the FDSEA 31 are planned from 7 p.m. at various strategic locations in the department, where fires will be lit to symbolize the distress of farmers.
The gathering places include the recycling center roundabout at Outsidethe Gardouch road roundabout at Villefranche-de-Lauragaisand the Saune roundabout at Lanta (7:45 p.m.). HAS Carbonneit is from 8 p.m. that the farmers plan to demonstrate, while the roundabout between Saint-Clar-de-Rivière and Poucharramet will also be invested.
“These fires are above all symbolic, the instruction is not to damage anything” explains Laure Serres, president of the FDSEA 31. “They represent our fed up but must be lit in complete safety, far from homes and without risk of spread. We do not want to endanger people or property.” According to the union leader, this mobilization is the result of the weariness of farmers who have not seen the promises of support materialize, particularly in terms of increased income and lower costs.
