Mussidan was more realistic than Saint-Cyprien

Unrecognizable on Sunday 17, the two teams did not offer their best rugby. Very penalized, each had their period. Saint-Cyprien, solid in conquest, well provided in touch by Chambon, had possession during most of the first act. Without, however, managing to cross the final Mussidanese defensive curtain, entrenched on its goal line.

Both on carried balls and on classic attacks, the Cypriots were unable to materialize, being content with the six points scored on penalties by Rémi Archambeau. “We dominate, we have a large number of chances in the first half, then we are weakened on the sidelines due to injuries,” regretted the opener and captain at the end of the match.

Pace

On his rare forays into the visiting camp, Mussidan showed realism and led at the break (9-6), thanks to three penalties converted by their center Borthayre. Possession was reversed during the second act.

“We managed to get a little more rhythm going. I think we should only remember the four points from the victory, the pressure locked down the progress of the game, said Mickaël Fayolas. I was expecting another match,” admitted the Mussidanese coach.
