“We are convinced that there are people who would be interested in getting into politics, for municipal elections, but who do not dare, because they do not know anyone, because they believe they do not have the networks…” It is based on this reflection that the members of the office of the brand new Renaissance party (heir to La République en marche and Ensemble pour la République), Corinne Griffond as president, Odile Thoumazeau, secretary and Brice Belian, deputy secretary, have decided to recruit.
“Already, during the European elections, then the legislative elections, people we did not know, who had never been involved, came to us, to help us to tow, to mobilize, to collect proxies,” remember the three responsible. Beyond this “call for talent”, Renaissance has decided to train these activists. “Training on the budget of the municipality, the agglomeration or the community of municipalities and a second part on communication: towards citizens, the press and with social networks. »
Red lines
It is the company JBBL, specializing in the training of elected officials, which will be responsible for these lessons, starting in January. “One year is not too early to get started,” notes Corinne Griffond.
It’s not about putting together lists everywhere, “but about getting involved. We have two red lines: we do not work with the National Rally and the far right, nor with LFI,” warns the elected representative from Passage. Which specifies another fundamental of Renaissance: “We will not hesitate to stand back to block the extreme right or LFI. »
These training courses for “new talents” will be free for applicants. “Party membership will not be compulsory. » This initiative is unique to Lot-et-Garonnaise. “Stéphane Séjourné wanted a decentralized party, so we have great freedom at the local level to organize ourselves,” believe the activists. And confirm a pool of activists emerging since the spring.
