Thirty years later, the Catalan sculptor is back in Drôme. One of his sculptures was installed at Place des Ormeaux.
Already invited by the City of Valencia in 1994the Catalan artist Jaume Plensa has agreed to return thirty years later, for an anniversary meeting in 2024. Exhibitions in the biggest museums are dedicated to him and large sculptures are present all over the world: New York, London, Chicago but also Valencia since November 9. “The Messenger”a sculpture installed at Place des Ormeaux, enriches the contemporary Art heritage in public spaces. Metal lace deploying the design of a silhouette evoking a human body and a universal community, this work of art is financed by patronage: the companies Rampa TP and Groupe Alizon, with the support of the State, the Region and of the Department.

An exhibition of 60 works
In this dynamic, the Museum of Valencia presents until April 13, 2025 an internationally renowned exhibition. Rich inaround sixty worksit sees itself as a poetic wandering, encountering drawings and sculptures made over the last thirty years. These works are made in the materials that Jaume Plensa favors: from bronze to alabaster, including steel and graphic arts.
