“Winter is coming.” The cold is arriving this week in France. Météo-France announces in particular “more frequent and more marked precipitation, a return of snow in the mountains at low altitude, a much windier atmosphere and winter temperatures.”
Snow could even fall in the plains, particularly during the day on Thursday. According to the forecaster, seven departments in France are affected. These are Cantal, Hautes-Alpes, Savoie, Haute-Marne, Moselle, Bas-Rhin and the Territoire de Belfort.
Negative temperatures Thursday and Friday?
Concretely, the first snowflakes are expected during the night from Wednesday to Thursday in the Aurillac region, on the Alps and around Belfort. They should continue to fall in small quantities throughout the day Thursday.
During the following night, from Thursday to Friday, cities like Gap, Belfort, Metz and Strasbourg could experience their first snowfall of the year.
Also note that temperatures will be low in the seven departments concerned. The thermometer should even go into the negative on Thursday and Friday.
