Road renovation work at the junction of the A750 and A75 motorways, near Ceyrasare essential to guarantee the safety and fluidity of traffic. Located approximately 40 kilometers from , this portion of the highway sees thousands of vehicles pass every day, mainly journeys linking Montpellier to , or Clermont-Ferrand to Béziers.

The construction will take place from this Monday 18 to this Friday 22 November 2024 inclusive. This period was chosen outside of long weekends and school holidays, a choice which aims to limit inconvenience for motorists. However, traffic restrictions are likely to have significant repercussions for users of this portion of the highway.

Traffic changeover and speed limits

For the smooth running of the project, both directions of traffic will not be accessible in the traditional way on the A75. The road will be completely closed in the Béziers-Clermont-Ferrand direction. North-south traffic, on the other hand, will be maintained but switched to a single lane, in a two-way configuration. In practice, this means that drivers will travel in opposite directions on the same roadway for approximately five kilometers. The maximum authorized speed will be 80 km/h in the two-way traffic zone. In tipping zones, it will be reduced to 50 km/h.

In addition to the traffic shift, another restriction concerns the ramp directly connecting the A750 to the A75, allowing you to go from Montpellier to Millau. This portion will also be closed for the duration of the work. Motorists will therefore have to exit the motorway at diffuser no. 12, in Saint-Félix-de-Lodez, before following a carefully marked detour. The diversion route will pass through the D619 and the D609, two well-used departmental roads, but offering limited capacity given the expected increase in traffic. Motorists will be able to take the A75 motorway at junction no. 54, near the commune of Bosc, after having crossed around fifteen kilometers off the main axis.
