For its 4th edition, Fragmentsthe regional arts and crafts fair of the Chamber of Trades and Crafts (CMA) Occitanie, takes place from November 28 to December 1 at theHôtel-Dieu Saint-Jacques 2 rue Charles Viguerie, in Toulouse. On the program: a exhibition-saleexceptional pieces, the discovery of training to artistic crafts, demonstrations of know-how and meetings with selected craftsmen.
Among the 80 artisans participating this year, half of whom are for the first time, four are from Tarn-et-Garonne. They are Vincent Siebert, cabinetmaker and varnisher who works in Molières, Yoann Agostinho, famous glass blower, based in Bruniquel, Mélanie Pierret, saddle maker, at the head of the Bluemane Sellier workshop, based in Labastide-Saint- Pierre and Robin Le Houérou, designer ceramist who works in Lauzerte.
Craftsmen with exceptional know-how
They were selected by a jury of experts for theexcellence of their training and their know-how, theoriginality of their creations, entirely produced in their workshops. Furniture and decoration, architecture and gardens, jewelry, ceramics, leather, instrumental craftsmanship, lighting, metal, fashion, paper, catering, textiles, glass and crystal: all the know-how of the region will be represented.
The regional CMA, whose mission is notably to defend and promote artistic crafts, has been organizing the Fragments fair since 2021. The event, which last year attracted more than 5,700 visitorsis completely free. It allows us to honor the professionals who work for the conservationthe restoration of heritage and for the artistic creation. There are more than 4,000 in Occitania.
The challenge for the CMA, through this show, is also why not? to encourage vocations. The public will thus be able to find out about thetraining offer in the arts and crafts offered by the CMA Occitanie Regional Training Center. The main diplomas in the arts and crafts sector are:
- the CAP (certificate of professional aptitude) to acquire the basics of the profession, in two years after third grade;
- the BMA (Brevet des professions d'art) and certain professional Baccalaureates, to improve one's practice, following a course after a CAP in particular;
- the DN Made (National Diploma in Crafts and Design), three years after the baccalaureate or the BMA.
Visitors will also be able to learn more about the support that the CMA puts in place for the benefit of art artisans in carrying out their projects: support for development of the activity, support for setting up grant files, labeling (master craftsman in the arts, living heritage company).
