200 people gathered against violence against children

A little over 200 people gathered this Saturday in against violence against children and adolescents following an appeal from around sixty associations and unions.

The organizers were expecting half a thousand people, but ultimately only 200 people went to Place de la Nation in Paris this Saturday afternoon, to fight against violence against children.

“I find it unacceptable that we are not with a full place this afternoon. Children are suffering, children are victims of multiple violence and discrimination and we are incapable in of having a full Place of the Nation,” declared Claire Bourdille, founder of the “Enfantiste” collective, to AFP.

“Society must mobilize against violence against children and adolescents,” she continued. She also insisted on the fact that the protection of children should be a major subject of the next presidential campaign.

Other gatherings were organized in around fifteen other cities, notably in , , , and even .

Many unions and associations are behind the call to rally in all these cities, including the Foundation for Children, the FSU and Solidaires unions, and the National Union of Early Childhood Professionals (SNPPE ).
