Sometimes there are details that can make a (big) difference. Thursday November 14, 2024, during a classic grocery store inspection in Nimes (Gard), the national police initially found nothing… Unlike many grocery stores in the department which do not respect the law, this one seemed to be on target.

But one key left on the counter of the establishment would change the situation in the middle of the afternoon for the 31 year old boss…

Head to the boss's car

Upon discovering the small object, the police saw fit to ask what its purpose was. It turned out that this key was that of the vehicle of manager from the grocery store. When they got closer, the officials discovered 31 cartons of foreign cigarettes and 420 euros.

Placed in police custody, the thirty-year-old was then released. He will still have to answer for his actions before the courts.

Another man arrested

Earlier in the day, around 10 a.m., a 62 year old man was checked on board his vehicle by BAC personnel, still in Nîmes. Inside: numerous packets of cigarettes and 29 cartons of cigarettes… Officials also found numerous packets of cigarettes, as well as shisha tobacco and 13 000 € at the home of this individual.

He was referred this Saturday, November 16, 2024.
