Charting the future of the Ecancourt coast together. This is the whole meaning of the consultation that the City of Jouy-le-Moutier has launched as part of the revision of its Local Urban Plan (Plu). Not long ago, around fifteen Jocassians surveyed the length and breadth and width of the Ecancourt coast. A space “whose non-building vocation must be preserved” warns the municipality.
“I live near this site so I pay particular attention to the destiny of this plot,” says Jean-Christophe, who comes from the Jouannes district. I understood that no real estate transaction was planned. It’s very good because in the past, there was talk of building hundreds of housing units.”
The list of their desires
Bordered by Boulevard d'Écancourt to the north, Chemin des Miettes to the east, the multi-sports grounds to the west and Rue du Boilé to the south, the site is crossed by Rue des Vignes Blanches and constitutes one of the main entrances to the town of Jouy-le-Moutier. A strategic site whose future deserves to be carefully and intelligently considered.
Once the on-site walk was over, the participants met at the Belfry for a citizen workshop. “This is not the first time that we have exchanged in the form of consultation and citizen workshops,” confides Hervé Florczak, the mayor (dvg) of Jouy-le-Moutier. The latest was held as part of the Éguerêts requalification project. Times of co-reflection like this are valuable for everyone because they allow dialogue and sharing.”
For an hour, the Jocassians racked their brains to draw up a list of their desires. The project of a park for dogs has emerged, as has the development of soft connections.
“It’s a beautiful space that we could use by bike or on foot,” judges Sylvère. It would be more pleasant to cross it than to go up along the boulevard. In addition, it would connect several cycle routes, which would make it possible to cross the city from Glatigny almost to Hautil by taking only four or five road crossings. »
For others, it is above all necessary to “refresh the existing”, namely the city stadium and the BMX field. Before imagining convivial spaces between picnic tables and permanent barbecues. It is now up to the municipality to sort out the good and bad ideas and reveal the future face of the Côte d'Ecancourt.
