a seriously injured man – Landes Info

During the night from Friday to Saturday, a violent fire ravaged a house in Saint-Paul-lès-, in Landes, causing serious injuries to its occupant.

According to Bleu, the flames, of impressive intensity, completely destroyed the house located at 86, impasse des Bouvreuils. Thanks to the rapid intervention of the firefighters, the disaster did not reach neighboring houses, thus avoiding an even more serious tragedy.

A 66-year-old man seriously injured
The victim, a 66-year-old man, suffered serious burns to his face and hands, in addition to being heavily exposed to toxic fumes. The firefighters, who arrived on the scene shortly before midnight, immediately took care of him and rushed him to Dax hospital. His condition requires prolonged care, and he will need to be rehoused once his convalescence is complete.

A fire with still unknown causes
For the moment, the origin of the fire remains undetermined. Investigators will have to determine the circumstances which led to this disaster. In the meantime, solidarity is organized around the victim who has lost everything. The firefighters, for their part, praised the collective work and responsiveness which made it possible to contain the flames and prevent their spread to other homes in the neighborhood.
