He had “got confused” with the victim: in Morbihan, the dealer denounces a murder at the home of one of his clients

He knew his client was dangerous and violent. A 43-year-old drug dealer denounced his client after seeing a body at his home in Gouarec, in the south of Morbihan. The client, a 30-year-old man, is indicted for murder. His dealer was sentenced to 24 months in prison, including six months suspended on probation. Both were incarcerated.

It all starts on November 13. A man contacted the gendarmerie to tell them “that he saw a dead man in the toilet of one of his friends”, says Nicolas Heitz, public prosecutor of Saint-Brieuc. The friend in question “has an extensive criminal record.” The police later learned that in reality his “friend” was a customer and that he had come to deliver narcotics to him.

A body discovered on a lawn

In the dealer's phone, the gendarmes found messages “which could be linked to the death of a 70-year-old man”, also a resident of Gouarec. In police custody, he mentions the presence of a weapon in his client's house.

At the same time, a passerby alerted the police. She saw a body on a lawn about 100 yards from the client's house. On site, the Guingamp search brigade found the victim. The forensic doctor noted “the presence of significant injuries to the face and head”. His autopsy will show several fractures and injuries to the face and thorax, wounds on the arms and hands, “made with a sharp object”. The victim also had a burn on his wrist.

In police custody, the client admits to having “messed up” with the victim on November 12 at the end of the afternoon. The suspect admits to having “delivered a blow” which caused the septuagenarian to fall to the ground. He then allegedly transported, “alone”, insists the prosecution, the victim to the back of the parking lot. He allegedly “left him thinking he was still alive”.

For his part, the dealer added during his hearing that he “preferred to denounce the murder knowing that the person he thought was the perpetrator was dangerous and that he had already seen him be violent with the victim.” The alleged killer was indicted for murder and placed in pre-trial detention. Investigators did not make a link between this murder and “the drug violations revealed by the investigation”.

A dealer who sells “in large quantities”

On this aspect of the investigation, it turns out that the forty-year-old was not a small-time drug dealer. At his home, the narcotics police “in significant quantities”: 23,850 kg of cannabis resin, 1,447 kg of cannabis herb, 137 g of cocaine and 13 ecstasy tablets. The man sells “in large quantities” via Telegram messaging.

He was tried as part of an appearance on prior admission of guilt (CRPC) and sentenced to 24 months' imprisonment, six months of which were suspended for two years.
