For a month, a new restaurant opened in Alès (Gard) encounter a huge popular success. This is the “ The Big Rex», unusual fast food, whose decor immerses each customer in the age of dinosaurs.

An opportunity

Contacted by Actu.fr, Philippe Lopez, 50 years old, is the happy owner of the place. Dinosaurs constitute for him, “a devouring passion”.

“Since my earliest childhood, I have loved the dinosaurs . For over 5 years, I have owned the Dinopedia Park a few kilometers from here. I wanted to create restaurants linked to these parks”, begins, pragmatically, the director, who aims to “duplicate this throughout France. first Dinopedia park ».

To achieve his goals, the fifty-year-old “jumped on a unmissable business opportunity,with premises close to the park and already fully equipped“. And for good reason, the new fast-food restaurant has replaced the old Papy B restaurant.

A “very atypical customer experience”

Once inside, the meal is classic in a fast food restaurant. “The burgers offered are 10, 12 or even 13 euros per unit . The operation is the same as at Burger King, Quick and Mc Donalds, honestly,” assures Philippe Lopez.

It is the environment which is much more unusual. What the boss confirms.

“For us, the important thing is not on the plate, but all around the customer. We created a jungle atmosphere, dinosaursabsolutely everywhere inside. And there is also a facade with an animated tyrannosaurus over 10 meters long . We have done everything to ensure that the customer experience is particularly atypical,” explains the manager from Gard.

With his thick red bread the Big Rex burger is the chefs' signature dish. “We launched this unique burgerwith this bread, because it looks more to a meteoritethan a sandwich” assures one of the employees of the Alesian fast-food restaurant.

A second opening imminent

The first restaurant, extended on 350m²has only been open since Monday October 7. “From the first days, demand was very strong. This continues. We currently welcome between700 and 900 customers every day», assures the boss.

Faced with such success, the Alesian fast-food restaurant will soon have a little brother. “We are working very seriously on premises located in Nîmes and of an equivalent surface area. We could very quickly open our second Gard Big Rex there,” concludes, methodically, Philippe Lopez
