Water is the first essential element for human beings. Our body is made up of 80% water and the quality of the water we drink directly impacts our health. However, in Reunion Island, all municipalities are very regularly affected by cuts and a deterioration in the quality of the water distributed.

Indeed, in a context where water cuts are increasing and the question of supply is becoming a critical issue, we are keen to bring together experts and stakeholders in health and the environment around this crucial theme. .

Our island, like many others in the Indian Ocean, faces unprecedented challenges regarding water management and quality. Between aging infrastructure, the direct impact of global warming, and potential threats to public health, it is essential to take stock of water-related diseases, future prospects, and possible solutions. .

On the program for this conference, presentations from recognized specialists, in particular:

• Doctors, guarantors of the health of the Reunion population,
• A hydrologist to shed light on water resource issues,
• A meteorologist to address climate impacts,
• Liberal doctors will present the results of an investigation into the quality of water contained in plastic bottles,
• Representatives of institutions concerned with water supply and public health.

This day will be an opportunity to better understand the direct influence of water quality on our health and to consider together the measures to take to ensure a more serene future. The icing on the cake is that a daycare service including games and activities is offered during the conference.
