House fire in Orne, no injuries but one cat died and twelve others recovered

The firefighters intervened in Longny-les-Villages, in the delegated municipality of Longny-au-Perche (Orne), this Friday, November 15, 2024, for a house firevers 9 h 50.

The house, located rue Léon Groutel, was partially damaged: the kitchenwhere the fire started, was destroyed, while the other rooms were blackened by the flames.

In the house, a rabbit and 15 cats

The occupants, a couple and their child, were absent.

More, several animals were present: a rabbit and 15 cats.

Unfortunately, one cat died following this fire, twelve others were recovered by the firefighters. Two cats escaped.

The occupants were relocated by the town hall services.

In total, the fire mobilized 14 firefighters barracks at Longny, Mauves-sur-Huisne, Mortagne-au-Perche and L'Aigle.
