In , €4.1 million mobilized by the Region for agriculture (2023/2024)

The Region affirms its commitment to farmers by supporting them in their investments and supporting them in the face of the multiple crises affecting the profession.

Since September 25 and until the end of November, a departmental tour has been organized in the 13 Maisons de Ma Région to exchange with agricultural professionals. These meetings, led by vice-presidents Vincent Labarthe and Jean-Louis Cazaubon, represent a time for discussion and assessment with stakeholders in the sector, under the aegis of Carole Delga, president of the Occitanie / Pyrénées-Médiranée region.

€4.1 million mobilized for farmers

In Gard, the Territorial Committee was held on November 15 at the Maison de Ma Région in Nîmes. This meeting served as a reminder of the Region's efforts to support farmers in a period marked by an unprecedented crisis.

Here are the main actions carried out over the 2023/2024 period:

  • Support for installation: 89 projects supported, including 36% carried out by young farmers. 252 people advised in pre or post-installation.
  • Modernization of farms: 28 applications supported, representing €1.3 million in aid for farms and 1 CUMA. 58 Small Investment Passes voted, for a total amount of €228,000. 86 beneficiaries of the FOSTER guarantee fund, facilitating access to bank loans for a total of €10.7 million, i.e. 233 jobs supported and €12 million in investments generated.
  • Agro-ecological transition: 46 sustainable agriculture contracts (CAD) validated, including 39 already completed, with personalized support. 5 structures selected and 15 advisors trained to support 5-year transition projects.
  • Support for hydraulics: €6.8 million in aid mobilized for €8.8 million in investments. 32 projects: modernization, network extension and individual reservoirs. 3.8 Mm³ of water saved and 1000 ha newly equipped.

A stated ambition for regional agriculture Carole Delga, president of the Occitanie / Pyrenees-Mediterranean Region, underlined the extent of this commitment : « The Occitanie region has never invested so much in its farmers. Since 2016, the budget dedicated to agriculture has more than doubled, consolidating this sector as the leading regional employer and a driver of our economy. In Gard, more than €4 million has been mobilized in recent months to modernize farms, sustainably manage water and encourage the establishment of young farmers.»

This dynamic reflects a desire to build a resilient and quality regional agricultural model, offering future prospects to farmers and the local economy.
