Minister Alexandre Portier announces a “Tour de France of orientation”

The Minister Delegate in charge of Academic Success and Vocational Education, Alexandre Portier, announced on Friday the launch of a national consultation on orientation from December with conclusions and proposals expected in February. The minister who in October declared that he wanted “put it back together” the orientation policy for “value the professions much more”is considering a consultation involving “all guidance stakeholders (regions, national education, higher education, economic players, operators including Onisep – the National Information Office on Education and Professions, editor’s note)” and parent-teacher associations, those around him told AFP.

“Today, too many students and parents are lost when it comes to the choices available to them throughout their education”said Mr. Portier during his visit to the Education Fair in Paris. Presented as a “Orienteering Tour de France” which will take place in the 18 academic regions, this consultation will take place in December and January before a presentation of the conclusions and proposals in February 2025.
