A hard worker, Alexandre Mazeau, resident of Sauveterre-de-Guyenne, in Gironde, would have liked to do without this sad story. Caterer for two and a half years, the father of the family recently launched into the rotisserie business in front of the town hall. He sells chickens there every Sunday… except for Sunday November 10, 2024.
His stolen rotisserie trailer
The reason for his absence? The theft of his rotisserie trailer. The events took place during the night from Saturday to Sunday. “I was coming back from a performance, the trailer was still there and I had hitched it to the van with a padlock,” he remembers. Unfortunately insufficient caution.
On Sunday morning, around 6 a.m., Alexandre found his van without the rotisserie trailer. “I was stunned. I rushed home and went to see my wife, when I told her she thought it was a joke. When I showed her, she couldn't believe it either. »
Internet users were touched by his mishap
Once over the shock, he decides to go to the Gendarmerie to file a complaint. Since then, he has regularly watched the ads on Leboncoin, hoping to find what he owes, which is reported at just over 9,000 euros. “There was the trailer, equipment but also gas bottles. »
The one who plays at the Cadillac-sur-Garonne rugby club was able to count on the support of several Internet users on Facebook. A post from one of his colleagues was also relayed more than 1,000 times to find the perpetrator of the theft and the juicy loot. Without much success so far.
The saving help of her mother-in-law's spouse
While waiting for potential reimbursement for the damage, Alexandre had to find an emergency solution to be able to maintain his activity. Her mother-in-law's partner finally came to her aid by lending him 9,000 euros to be able to quickly find him a new rotisserie trailer.
That's it, the entrepreneur made an acquisition near Toulouse during the week, which generated mileage costs which he would have liked to do without.
Nevertheless, the risk of not working was much more perilous. “Without him, I would have found myself in a very complicated financial situation. I would have had to live on my deposits from next year's weddings. However, I would have had no more money next year. I don't know how I would have done it honestly. »
Alexandre Mazeau now wants to think about the future, and especially the resumption of his rotisserie activity. He will be back this Sunday morning on the square in front of the town hall of Sauveterre-de-Guyenne. With the hope that its activity will (finally) launch under the best auspices.
