Ten months after the last movement of discontent, the FDSEA and Young Farmers unions are calling for mobilization. They should be at Puy-en-Velay on Monday.
The unions made a list of demands and it has not been emptied since the last protest movement. It was January 2024. The year is not over and farmers will return to the field to show their discontent.
This concerns the late payment of the CAP (“Pay what you owe us”), they are still asking for administrative simplification (“Fed up with excess paperwork”), they criticize the “non-compliance” with the single control (“We we do not have the same definition of the word “unique””). They criticize the Mercosur agreement which would have been concluded between the European Union and South American countries. As for the crisis linked to cattarhales fever, “after the announcements, we want action!”
Result: tractors and trailers will reach Puy-en-Velay from Monday morning. Union officials remain very discreet about their means of action. The goal is to create surprise. The FDSEA announces a demonstration in downtown Le Puy.
