“It’s always the same people who toast”… The end of Zap31 toll assistance doesn’t just make people happy

It's official: from January 1, 2025, the Haute-Garonne department will put an end to the Zap31 system. In place for twenty-five years, it allows you to benefit from advantageous rates on tolls in the department. Aid intended for workers who went to their office via the A66, A61 and A64 motorways. The latter, via a Ulys subscription set up by Vinci Autoroutes, saw their payment reduced by at least 12%.

But that's it for this little help. “The financial situation of local authorities, and in particular of the departments, is alarming”, justifies the Departmental Council of Haute-Garonne. “The 5 billion euros in savings requested by the State further penalize local finances already under pressure,” adds Sébastien Vincini, the president of the Departmental Council.
