Candlelight pays tribute to Jean-Jacques Goldman in Paris 7

Whatever generation you belong to, you necessarily know the songs of Jean-Jacques Goldman. Having been part of several groups, it is his solo career which remains the best known with titles that have become anthems like I give you or When the music is goodto name just a few. And even without knowing him, you have inevitably already listened to one of his works. He has written and composed for many other artistsamong which Johnny Hallyday et Celine Dion. Finally, although he left the media scene in the early 2000s, his influence remains immense in France and Parisstill today.

The link between the artist and Paris

Deeply linked to Paris, both in his personal and professional life, Jean-Jacques Goldman was born in the capital on October 11, 1951. and grew up in the 19th arrondissement, in a family of Jewish origin. His parents, hero of the Resistance during World War IIleft a strong mark on him, notably his father, Alter Mojze Goldman, who held a sports clothing store in Montrouge where Jean-Jacques worked before his musical career really took off.

But Paris was also the cradle of its success. From the end of the 1970s, his career singer-songwriter takes off until it reaches heights in the 1980s and 1990s. His songs resonated so much with French audiences that he quickly became a music icon.

Finally, more than just an artist, Goldman is a committed person who is involved in charitable actions. He notably co-founded The Bastards in 1986, a collective of artists supporting Restos du Cœurthe Parisian association created by Coluche which provides food to people in need. This initiative anchored it even more in the social life of the capital and its humanitarian causes.

A tribute worthy of the legend

In the National Institute for Young Blind People, a unique place with exceptional acoustics located in the 7th district, a concert is being prepared.
