The news risks causing a reaction. This Friday, November 15, 2024, the Paris Higher School of Journalism announced “its takeover” by several French companies having agreed to “participate in strengthening” the establishment. Some are owned by media bosses.

Among the names cited in the press release broadcast on X: CMA Média, company of Rodolphe Saadé, owner of ProvenceBFM or RMC, Compagnie de l'Odet which manages the Bolloré group, owner of the Canal group and Prisma Mediabut also Bernard Arnault, owner of the Parisian and des Échos which will be an investor via Financière Agache.
Founded in 1899, ESJ Paris, “oldest school in the world”says it is ready to “invest in the human, technological and educational resources necessary to perpetuate the establishment” and make it an “incubator of journalistic talents”.
A wave of new investors which is accompanied by a change of presidency and management. Vianney d'Alençon thus becomes president of the establishment and Elhame Medjahed, until then educational manager, inherits the interim management.
In January 2025, “the management team will be strengthened and new premises made available to him”.
