The finances of the commune of Sainte-Rose are in surplus. The city is finally breathing, after being in the red for 10 years. The Regional Chamber of Accounts has just issued its report; this document validates the accounts presented by Mayor Adrien Baron and his municipal team.
In Sainte-Rose, the administrative account of the city's main budget, covering the 2023 financial year, adopted last April by the municipal council, was validated by the Regional Chamber of Accounts (CRC). It is therefore now official: as announced at the time, the municipality is indeed emerging from financial difficulties and its recovery plan, after 10 years of chronic deficit. The accounting magistrates stipulate it clearly: the procedure is now closed.
Two years of management were thus enough for the new municipal majority to absorb the city's deficit.
In 2022, the municipality had a deficit of 15 million. At this stage, we can speak of a spectacular recovery, obtained moreover, without an increase in taxes.
The public expenditure control jurisdiction even revised upwards the surpluses of the original budget and the administrative account, ending with surpluses of 5 and 18 million euros respectively.
The municipality now has what it takes to resume investments and works, in a town that has long been struggling with finances.
Among the objectives, it is a question of improving the quality of life of those administered, in particular by strengthening territorial security.
