Victim of the Bataclan attacks, Baptiste Chevreau is not forgotten in Tonnerre

“This date of November 13 is an indelible reminder of the horror,” confided, Wednesday morning, Philomène Petitjean, Baptiste Chevreau’s mother. The 24-year-old Tonnerrois was murdered at the Bataclan on November 13, 2015.

For the ninth consecutive year, dozens of Tonnerrois, elected officials and students from the committed class of the Chevalier-d'Éon high school met in front of the kiosk that bears his name, which has become a symbol.

“Tonnerre will never forget it”

“Terrorists mainly target youth because they symbolize freedom; and schools and their teachers, because they embody education. Two principles that fundamentalists abhor, preferring ignorance and obscurantism,” assured Cédric Clech, mayor of Tonnerre, who paid tribute to all the victims of terrorism in his speech.
