ADAPEI du Cantal, in partnership with UNAPEI, is inaugurating “La Boutique Éphémère et Solidaire”, an innovative project aimed at promoting the work of Establishments and Services for Assistance through Work (ESAT) and adapted companies. Located in the city center of Aurillac, this temporary store highlights the know-how of workers with disabilities.
A first in France
“Cantal is ahead of this concept”, declares Luc Gateau, president of UNAPEI. “It’s a first in France.” This project aims to transform perceptions of disability, while offering a unique showcase for products manufactured in 24 establishments throughout France: jams, chocolates, oils, jewelry and other artisanal items.
A place of pride and appreciation
“The idea of the store is to bring pride to this work which was done in the shadows”underlines Luc Gateau. This unique concept allows ESAT workers to present their creations directly to the public, thus promoting their professional skills and strengthening their role within the local economy.
A promising experiment
“The Ephemeral and Solidarity Boutique is for measuring ourselves. If it works, we will perpetuate the store and create a website” Alain Coste.
“This store is a real source of pride”says Alain Coste, president of ADAPEI Cantal. It will remain open until January 24, welcoming visitors from Tuesday to Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. without interruption.
A rich and diverse collaboration
This project is based on extensive inter-association collaboration, with the participation of local and national associations.
Each partner contributes to enriching the store's offering, by bringing products from their own workshops: gourmet products, handicrafts, cosmetics, and many others.
This diversity demonstrates the richness of the skills of workers with disabilities.
An unmissable solidarity event
Beyond simple sales, the store offers moments of exchange and discovery. Activities and presentations will allow visitors to better understand the essential role of ESATs and their positive impact on the region.
The Éphémère et Solidaire Boutique embodies a social and economic initiative combining inclusion, artisanal know-how and solidarity. An invitation to support this great adventure while discovering unique products.
