In Seine-et-, Prysmian is investing in a new cable production line worth 39 million euros

The Italian group Prysmian, specialist in cable production, unveiled, Thursday November 14, the outlines of the new cable production line that it will have built on its Montereau-Fault-Yonne site (Seine-et-). ).

This investment, valued at 39 million euros, comes as part of RTE's announcement of a record order for 5,000 kilometers of electrical cables from five European suppliers, including Prysmian, for a total of one billion euros. A third of the cables will be produced in in the Prysmian factories in Montereau-Fault-Yonne and Gros (Yonne) as well as that of Nexans in Bourg-en-Bresse (Ain).

An operational line in 2026

The project concerning the Seine-et-Marne factory concerns the creation of a new production line for high and very high voltage cables which will be operational in 2026, according to information communicated by the group. The objective of this new line is “to support our customers in the energy transition and interconnection”, specifies Prysmian. From 2027, the new production flow should lead to the hiring of 61 new employees, including 55 workers and six managers.
