Players from all over the region and of all levels competed in the village hall.
This Monday, at the Rodez village hall, the Rodez bridge club organized a regional bridge competition. A major event, approved by the Pyrenees bridge committee and the national federation. Of the 224 participants, three quarters came from neighboring departments: Lot, Tarn, Cantal, Lozère, without forgetting Haute-Garonne and Hérault.
This festival brings together audiences of all levels: each participant was able to compare themselves to others by successively playing identical deals.
As with every festival, a financial award rewarded the best, by category, but above all it is a moment of pleasure allowing everyone to share their passion for bridge with other amateurs. And each player received one of the many prizes offered by the club's local private partners. During the afternoon, the Rodez village hall remained silent, despite the presence of more than 200 people, who were focused on their cards. After the tournament, the atmosphere became lively, around a dinner with Aveyron flavors served just after the awards ceremony in the presence of Jean François Bouges, representing the City.
The Ruthenian club also suggested that participants take advantage of their stay in Rodez to discover the city's museums, as well as other sites in the department. The organizing team of this regional tournament has been mobilizing for several months to bring together the best conditions for the smooth running of this day, thanks to the financial support of private partners, the departmental council of Aveyron and the agglomeration of Rodez. The November 11 festival is a highlight of the club's associative life, and each member, depending on their availability, contributes at their own level to its success. The Rodez Bridge Club, chaired by Cathy Vieilledent, has seventy members. Its particularity is to have within it a training center approved by the French bridge federation. So, something happens every day at the Rodez club: free games, tournaments between members, initiation of new players, development courses…
