Le Manou, a Durbuy resident in the running to represent Belgium at Eurovision: “I’m the big unknown in the casting, but I believe in it”

These first experiences opened the doors to the sets of The Voice Belgium at just 17 years old, as well as that of the Ghent Conservatory the following year. This training allowed him to discover the other side of the stage: “Besides the profession of singer, I learned a lot about the profession of productionshe explains. Thanks to my experience as a singer with the group AKS, I also realized that my job could be similar to that of an actor, in the sense that there are a multitude of forms of expression for a singer.

Nine recording studios in Durbuy

In parallel with this budding musical career, Le Manou embarked on an entrepreneurial adventure by founding her own recording studio in Durbuy. Alongside her husband, she now manages a space with nine studios. This initiative not only allows him to develop his skills, but also to learn more about the music industry: “I made many meetings which allowed me to enrich myself musically. It was there in particular that I met Willem (Editor’s note: Flemish producer), who suggested that I do the casting of the Eurosong, thinking that I would be a good profile for the program”.

“I’m going to set the mood and get you moving.”

Passionate about Eurovision since she was little, Le Manou admires the multiple musical styles and the quality of the performances delivered on this renowned stage: “Of course, I listen to several artists from Eurovision, notably Loïc Nottet and Blanche, who offered very nice performances on the competition stage, with very well-written songs”she told us.

Although she cannot reveal too many clues about the song that will perhaps take her to Eurovision, the Durbuysian has nevertheless agreed to tell us a few secrets: “I can already tell you that I will set the mood and that I will invite people to move”.

Le Manou will be lined up alongside well-known artists, including Mentissa, former coach at The Voice Belgium: “I know that I am the great unknown of the casting, but I believe in my chances, and even if I do not win, I hope that my song can make the rounds on the radios this summer. I am in any case delighted to be able to to go back on stage again after having hidden myself a little in the business of the music industry”.

Perfectly bilingual, nourished by experiences on both the Flemish and Walloon sides, Le Manou could not represent Belgium better. The ideal candidate to represent us at Eurovision? To find out, we’ll have to wait until next February.
