Salviac. Ordi'Lot, a major issue for the department's elected officials

As part of Operation Ordi Lot, a team of departmental agents went on Tuesday, November 12, to the Emile-Mompart college in Salviac. In the presence of Frédéric Gineste, the vice-president of the Lot department, the middle school students having previously submitted a request to the departmental council, were given their computers.

The vice-president recalls that all colleges are connected to fiber and that all of the colleges' desktop computers have been renewed. The computers, delivered with the help of three agents from the department, are intended for students entering 6th grade or those attending school for the first time in a Lot college, public or private. For fifteen years, the Lot department has made it easier for all new middle school students to acquire a laptop. This year, no less than 913 computers were distributed. The department covers between 20% and almost 95% of the price depending on the family quotient. For two years now, the scale has evolved. The cost for the most modest families has fallen sharply, from €50 in 2021 to €20 last year.

The laptop also serves as a tablet: The screen is touchscreen, full HD with 360° rotation. The tool is owned by the family and is provided with around forty applications used in the school environment: math, technology, science, French, languages, geography and even 140 digital books. This operation allows families to benefit from reliable equipment to work at home and stay in contact with the college. Ordi'Lot is a success every year. “We are also investing massively in the twenty Lot colleges in order to guarantee the best educational quality and the maintenance of these local establishments, this is a major issue for the Lot department,” said the vice-president. The community is in charge of the twenty public colleges. So that young Lotois people benefit from the same opportunities as elsewhere, so that educational teams have the means to act, the department wishes to offer them good working and welcoming conditions.
