after refusing to comply, the young fugitive will await his trial in prison

The 18-year-old driver who, on the night of Friday November 8 to Saturday November 9 in Chef-Boutonne, tried to escape the gendarmes was presented this Thursday to the criminal court as part of an immediate appearance. Although he was given time to prepare his defense, he was placed in pre-trial detention while awaiting his trial, postponed to December 16.

Ten plants of cannabis found at his parents' house

While trying to flee, and after a chase lasting around forty minutes that started in La Mothe-Saint-Héray, the young man hit and broke down the gate of a house in Chef-Boutonne. While going backwards, he ran over the foot of one of the brigadiers. The young mechanic, originally from Ruffec (Charente) and known to the courts, was finally arrested four days later at his parents' house who had tried to cover up for him.

At the family home, two wrecks of stolen cars used to recover spare parts were discovered, as well as ten plants of cannabis and a small quantity of herbal cannabis. In police custody, the man accused admitted to being the driver of the car and to having tried to flee the police. He will therefore have to explain these facts in December in court.
