a collection of donations to help Spanish animal shelters

A call for generosity from all. Between October 29 and 30, 2024, the Valencia region, on the Mediterranean coast, experienced extreme storms causing flash floods and historic flooding in several cities.

Caused by a “cold drop” (isolated depression at high altitude), bad weather caused at least 223 deadaccording to the latest official report communicated by the Spanish government, as well as significant damage.

Only travel for “cases of force majeure” is authorized, announced the president of the autonomous region Carlos Mazónmuch criticized for its lack of responsiveness and its chaotic flood management.

As reported by our colleagues from Monde and of South West, indignation against the authorities gave rise to massive demonstrations : more than 100,000 people met in Valencia on November 11 to demand the resignation of the elected conservative.

On site, an army of thousands of volunteerssometimes helped by farmers or construction companies, come to the aid of the victims. But, between the stagnant waterTHE animal corpses and the rotting foodthe authorities warn about the health risks.

In such a context, the 3 Dindes refuge farm, based in Tarn-et-Garonne, is launching a collection of donations (unpublished) to help the devastated shelters and try to save (once again) the animals.

An expedition planned for November 20

To enable the shelter farm teams to purchase essential products on site (medical equipment, foodstuffs, dehydrated fodder, etc.), participation can be in the form of material donations and/or financiers.

To date, 12 tonnes of food could be purchased by the 3 Turkeys thanks to the first donations collected, i.e. 14 pallets of dehydrated hay. An expedition will leave Tarn-et-Garonne, towards the region, the next November 20.

She is the co-founder of the refuge farm Lisa Fernandezwho will be responsible for driving a 19 ton truckto send donations directly to farm animal and equine shelters.

Please note that donations can be brought directly (by appointment) to the Moissac depot by contacting Caroline at 06 46 41 00 08. For the successful completion of the collection, it is imperative to respect the list of needs below:
