The 2023 edition of Telethon enjoyed resounding success in the Grand Est with 6.3 million euros raisedor 200,000 euros more than last year. There Moselle took part in this wind of generosity with field collections exceeding the expectations of the organizers. Enough to suggest a great mobilization in 2024.
The situation suggested a complicated edition, but quite the opposite happened, with a collection of 93 million euros at national level for research into rare genetic diseases. THE best Telethon result since 2016. This was made possible by a dynamism on the ground which surprised even the Moselle actors of the Telethon.
“According to our estimates, for our area, we thought we would close at 310,000 euros and, in the end, it was more than 360,000 euros that we obtained. I didn’t expect it,” says Christelle BLONDEAU, coordinator for Moselle-Ouest.
By combining the Eastern and Western sections of the department, it is almost half a million euros that Mosellans gave for research and social actions of the Telethon participating in field events, not counting donations by telephone and online.
The 2024 edition is imminent
With more than 140 manifestations organized this year, the teams hope to once again approach these 2023 figures, without setting a precise objective for this new edition, the date of which has been postponed to September 29 and 30, 2024, due to a calendar requirement.
You will need to pay attention to the changed date of the Telethon. Some events will still take place in December, as Christelle BLONDEAU reminds us. She returns to the mobilization in Moselle and the expected new developments:
And Thionville remains the driving force behind the Telethon in the department, participation is in full development in Yutz with a solidarity race or even choral singing concerts at the Saint-Nicolas church. HAS Cattenomit's a huge exhibition of Lego Star Wars, with an appearance by the 501st legion, a reconstitution troop, which Mosellans will be able to find on November 23 and 24.
