This is a great first in Indre. The company Api, launched in Charente in November 2022, specializes in the establishment of autonomous convenience stores in rural areas. It announces the opening, Friday November 22, 2024, of its first self-service grocery store, in Velles, near Châteauroux.
“It’s already number 85e mini market opened by the company, it is specified in a press release. Api is already present in several rural areas of New Aquitaine, Loire" rel="tag">Pays de la Loire, Center-Val de Loire as well as Normandy. »
Each time, the principle is the same: housed in a 40 m² mobile home and equipped with a cold room, the grocery store is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with a promise of “700 references at supermarket prices”. To enter, you must download an application on your mobile phone or obtain an access card. Customers scan their items themselves and pay with a bank card before leaving, under the gaze of surveillance cameras.
In Creuse a year ago
If this is a first in the department, Indriens already benefit from a similar service since many residents of Aigurande have made it a habit to go to Lourdoueix-Saint-Pierre, in the neighboring Creuse, where an Api supermarket had opened a year ago.
The opening in Velles is scheduled for Friday, November 22 and the inauguration, that same day, at 4 p.m., at 46, route de Mosnay.
