This Wednesday, three men faced the Dijon judicial court (Côte-d'Or) for having kidnapped a drug trafficker, report our colleagues from France 3 Regions. The penalties incurred are heavy: thirty years of criminal imprisonment and a fine of one million euros.
The facts date back to 2020. A buyer has a meeting with dealers for a transaction in a parking lot in Chenôve. One kilo of cannabis resin for 1,000 euros. But things don't go as planned. The group absconds with the money without fulfilling their part of the contract.
He threatens to amputate the dealer's finger
In the melee, the aggrieved customer manages to catch one of the dealers. This one, aged 17, ends up in the trunk of a car. Two accomplices join the kidnapper. Their plan? Demand a ransom of 1,000 euros from the young man's family. An explicit SMS is sent, indicating that their prisoner will have a finger amputated if they refuse.
The victim's father decides to contact the police. The three suspects were then quickly arrested by the Dijon research and intervention brigade (BRI). This Wednesday, the court finally decided to postpone the hearing. Their fate will be decided on July 3.
