Solidarity Energy reveals the five winning associations of its Occitan 2024 call for projects. New projects to combat energy poverty initiated via the Énergie Solidaire Occitanie program, notably supported by the Occitanie Region.
A new step in the fight against energy poverty in Occitania for which the Gard association Soliha Méditerranée was awarded 45,000 euros. Soliha Méditerranée is a historic regional player in the fight against substandard housing and homelessness. It operates mainly in the departments of Aude, Gard and Hérault, through its head office in Nîmes and its agencies in Carcassonne and Narbonne. “ Our 60 employees work every day to ensure that everyone who needs it can benefit from comprehensive support. From finding accommodation to daily support in living skills, our experts with varied profiles put the user at the heart of their daily work. »
The project aims to create a fund dedicated to supporting very modest and vulnerable groups in their energy renovation and heavy works projects. This initiative emerged following an observation by Soliha Méditerranée: many households encounter difficulties in embarking on subsidizing renovation projects due to various obstacles, in particular the complexity of understanding a renovation project as a whole and of implementing it. implement (e.g.: search for quotes, negotiations, planning of work, monitoring of achievements, communication with companies).
Another Gard association to receive an award, the Service Entraide Protestants, received 40,050 euros. The SEP is a recognized General Interest Association and you can support its actions by making a financial or in-kind donation. Volunteer, one-off or regular involvement is always welcome for this association whose headquarters is in La Grand-Combe.
The Protestant Support Service, created in 1987 by the Evangelical Reformed Church of La Grand'Combe, has always been concerned with the most deprived and vulnerable. “ Our association is the concrete expression of the diakonic work of this local Protestant church. »
Since its creation, the SEP has sought to professionally develop its areas of intervention with a population suffering from diverse and complex problems and wishing to be supported.

The Eco'Loge Toit project aims to combat fuel poverty and substandard housing, that is to say housing that does not meet health and safety standards. The objective is to improve the living conditions of residents, to strengthen their knowledge on issues related to energy and housing, while promoting sustainable development, citizen participation and the practice of living together.
Selected for their potential impact and their social approach, these associations develop support projects for the complete and efficient renovation of housing, adapted to the needs of people experiencing energy poverty.
The selection criteria included energy efficiency, relational support and technical coherence of the projects presented. The number of associations supported by Énergie Solidaire Occitanie now stands at nine.
Launched in 2023 with the support of the Occitanie Region, the Occitan program now has a territorial network bringing together players in renewable energies and sustainable buildings, players in the social and solidarity economy, and communities.
