An epidemiological investigation is being carried out by the services of the Departmental Directorate of Employment, Labor, Solidarity and Population Protection (DDETSPP) to determine whether epidemiological links exist between the two outbreaks.
An ongoing investigation
The prefectural decree of November 7, determining a regulated perimeter around the first outbreak remains. Namely a protection zone, within a radius of 3 kilometers from the first outbreak (it concerns eight municipalities, namely Orist, Pey, Port-de-Lanne, Saint-Étienne-d'Orthe, Saint-Jean-de-Marsacq, Saint-Lon-les-Mines, Sainte-Marie-de-Gosse and Saint-Martin-de-Hinx) and a surveillance zone within the 10 kilometer radius of this outbreak (20 municipalities concerned).
